Everyday, adoption is woven into the fabric of the American family. Regardless of how and when a child is adopted (whether from birth or at an older age from foster care) they all need focused, authentic emotional support from family, friends, and society as they develop and grow. As the landscape of the American family changes, adoption is an intergral part and offers a very real alternative for families of all kinds. At the same time, adoptees, adoptive families, and birth families face many challenges. Adoption under perfect circumstances is complicated.
The Adoptment mission is to provide adopted young people and/or young people in transition from foster care into adoptive homes, the regular company of an adult mentor (who was adopted and/or spent time in foster care) to express themselves, be heard and ask questions while engaging in activities both fun and educational.
